Mock press conferences
Published on May 21, 2013
The News Academy’s team of professional journalists come into school and run mock press conferences for pupils. They are an exciting, dynamic way to get students motivated to write. Whether it is part of journalistic report writing lessons or maybe a drama project, the mock press conferences promote learning across the curriculum. Alternatively through our links with the NHS and Councils we can bring professionals such as nurses, consultants and doctors into your classroom as part of a journalistic research project.
Improve pupils’ communication skills
Mock press conferences are a great way to improve communication, listening and speaking skills among pupils. It also gives students a sense of the world of work and the importance of deadlines!
We offer a range of different scenarios or can develop one especially for your school on a subject or our choice. Teachers can also take part – why should they miss out on the fun!
